Food Fair
In Belgium, as in many European countries, tons of goods are wasted each day.
The Food Fair is a tool that aims to reduce food waste by offering big and small distribution new recovery paths for their food surpluses.
Specifically, the Exchange is a surplus food donation platform. It allows merchants, supermarkets and charities to register to participate in a project in their area. A collaboration with food banks ensures the continuity of good practices and helps fulfill new local links between supply and demand surplus.
As part of these projects, the retailers declare their surplus food in real time using a powerful scanning system. Charities can then securely access fresh food while respecting legal constraints and regulations.
